I leaned in as he spoke. I wanted to know how this man embraced the news that he was losing his vision and would become nearly blind within two weeks of his diagnosis.
At a fundraising event for The Foundation for Fighting Blindness, André van Hall shared how his innate curiosity guided him to quickly adapt to blindness, which began with sight loss in one eye in 2011 and has progressed to near-total blindness.
Here’s some of his inspirational message:
*When change comes into your life, you can scream and yell or light a candle.
*Change is always present. But we have a choice of how we are going to receive it.
*We must all be curious about change. It’s about attitude. Be open to other things. You can still laugh if you are going blind.
*If it is to be, it’s up to me.
* You can change the way the world perceives you.
*Blindness is just a small little change in your life. What matters is how we change the world around us.
Today, I’m inspired to be curious about change.
How about you? How you embrace change?
