Dear Ms. Caleb,
I’m writing to remind you of your mission. You fight alongside me each and every day. Just two years after escaping from Egypt, Moses chose you, me and ten others to explore the promised land.
We saw that the land was good, but the people who possessed the land were of large size. They appeared stronger. Upon our return, we all gave our account to Moses. The ten spies didn’t believe we could conquer the promised land. It was only you and me who believed we could. You are the one that silenced our people, telling Moses, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” The other ten spies were afraid. But not you. You are different. You are strong. Actually, you are stronger than you believe. Unfortunately the majority won, and we found ourselves wandering in the desert for forty years. You might have thought: Why am I here? What did I do wrong? You may have felt like you are overshadowed by others, but God sees your faithfulness.
You are a GREAT leader. What is the secret of your greatness? In the end, you utterly give yourself to God. Great women are never really complicated. The complicated people are the weak ones, rationalizing all the different paths to take. Not you. You see all the different ways to go, but you have the vision and wisdom, to focus on the important cause, choose it, and follow it consistently. That’s one of the things that makes you so great.
You are magnificent because you keep your eyes on God and you do not vacillate. You don’t look at the terrifying things around you. You know the secret. You measure God against your circumstances, not your circumstances against God. You have a BIG God, and your big God does mighty things.
You are wandering in the desert. Fighting. Understand where you are, and Who you are fighting for. The battle is real, but you are not alone. Know Who is there with you. You are with your God. My God. Our God. And He is good. In the end, He always wins. He will get us to the promised land. Keep the faith, fight the good fight.
Your fighting friend,
