Zoey has been with us for a month now and she is a true delight. She knows her commands, she’s smart, funny, and just straight up cute. There’s only one thing missing; she won’t bond with David. And, well, David needs a dog too—I guess…..Honestly, I don’t guess, I know. And I know that sending her back to the rescue today, is not what my heart wants. I’m certain I will cry my eyes out when I drop her off this morning (Okay, I’ve already started).
Mile High Husky Rescue does an amazing job placing dogs into good homes. There will be a great home for Ms. Zoey. I just wish it was mine.
So much has transpired in my home the last few weeks. Fostering and repairing hearts. Caring for Zoey has repaired my heart. It allowed it to laugh again. Her heart has been loved well too. I’ve watched her thrive here. I can smile knowing that I was involved in mending a heart and sharing love. But mostly, she has restored my broken heart.
