I need healing, but my symptoms continue.
I seek answers, but I’ve failed to find them.
Change is desired, but I can’t break the cycle.
I ask for help, but no one steps up.
Striving every day, but I never reach that next level.
I long to trust again, but I’m afraid.
I’m tired, I should just give up.
This is just the way it is for me. Nothing will ever change.
In the early morning haze, these prayers flooded my heart. Hope was nowhere to be found.
I can’t do this anymore.
And then, as if in reply my to weariness, “No, you can’t. But I can.”
His voice was clear and sturdy, “Restore the fruit.”
Desperate for understanding, I flipped fragile pages stopping at Genesis chapters two and three. Fingertip traced ancient words.
“And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it, you will certainly die.’”
They ate the fruit anyway.
“And the Lord God said, ‘The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.’”
God didn’t want us to know about good and evil. Once we did, our days were numbered.
Now separated from God, He planned reconnection by sending His Son.
And He restores innocence by accepting Jesus by faith.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…” Ephesians 2:8
Restore the fruit:
Today, it’s time to restore your fruit. Stop doing it on your own! Too much knowledge and you become self-reliant. You were not meant to understand the “whys,” or the “hows.” You were created for companionship—to simply love and be loved.
Picture yourself as whole, not a disfigured fruit. You are complete when you allow Him to be God—like it was in the beginning.
Reverse the curse:
The curse was death and separation. You can reverse the curse by not consuming dead things—those negative statements—a discouraged spirit. You are a new creature in Christ, so start speaking life and begin to receive abundance.
And as for reversing separation, don’t spend one more moment in isolation. Return to Him. He will run toward you the moment He sees you coming.
Remember the verse:
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” His power works within you. You’re right—you can’t do this anymore. But He CAN!
How can I pray for you today? I have a desk day, and I’m praying the moment your prayers come in.
