I had been praying for weeks about the event. Praying for the women who would attend, for me to get out of my own way, and for God to steal the show. I drove from Delta, Colorado to a little town named, Crawford. A big church, for a small town. The snow fell softly, the women poured into the church. I taught, gave them tools, signed books…..There were tears and laughter and connection. My heart beats for moments like these. God was on the move.
I was prompted to share the gospel message, by the woman who was in charge of the conference.
“Did you include the gospel message in your talk today?”
“I was going to wait on God’s direction for that. These are church going ladies. Do you think they need to hear the gospel message?”
“Do we really know who has opened their heart to Jesus? Just because you go to church doesn’t mean you know Jesus.”
The conference started. I shared a personal story about the gospel. The last afternoon lesson, I gave the invitation.
I received an email yesterday from the woman who ran the conference:
How can we ever thank you for coming here and meeting so many needs? God was powerful to say the least. One of the ladies at our conference, shared with the entire church today, that she accepted Christ on Saturday. Church was in an uproar! Now there are five more Jericho Girls groups about to happen. We need more books. I asked the ladies to let us know just how they enjoyed yesterday. A giant cheer went up! Bless you Dawna for saying yes!
Proof yet still, that God speaks through others. My heart is full.
