In studio, Angie played the opening clip of his keynote speech at The National Prayer Breakfast, addressing President Trump, Vice President Pence, and attendees. His deep voice commanded my attention. Additionally, he’s funny and a fabulous speaker. Angie, Beatrice, and I greeted Senate Chaplain Barry Black—the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate.
Angie discussed his books:
Nothing to Fear: Principles and Prayers to Help You Thrive in a Threatening World
From the Hood to the Hill: A Story of Overcoming
The Blessing of Adversity: Finding Your God-given Purpose in Life’s Troubles
Even though The Good News is an excellent platform to market new books and upcoming conferences, Chaplain Black promoted God with his deep message: Making your voice heard in heaven.
Prior to the presidential election, three hundred people including Chaplain Black, fasted and prayed. Not for the person they wanted to be elected, instead they prayed, “That His providence WILL prevail.” They even prescheduled a praise and thanksgiving service to be held right after the election so they could give praise to God for whomever He elected as president of the United States.
Senate Chaplain Barry Black left us hanging on these words; “When you pray the Our Father prayer—truly praying Thy will be done—you find yourself in the circle of His will; making your voice heard in heaven.”
