Last week, I watched a segment on the news titled: Overwhelmed Week.
Is there really such a thing? The news reported that the week of Christmas is the most stressful time of the year, and the reasons we feel overwhelmed during the holiday season are threefold:
*Trying to get it all done.
*Having to get it all done.
*Feeling like you are missing out on something if you can’t get it all done.
I stared at the TV waiting for more. There had to be more. But there wasn’t. I wrestled with the question: Why do we feel overwhelmed during the holidays? Deeper than just “getting it all done,” that angst—overwhelmed in a negative way, overcomes me when:
*I’m doing instead of being.
*I’m looking to perfection instead of focusing on the Prefect One.
*My perception of the physical realm, instead of discerning the spiritual.
Overwhelmed can be a great feeling. Like holding your baby for the very first time…receiving a lavish gift…experiencing God’s immense love.
The Jericho Girls long to inspire women to discover a daily feeling of ‘overwhelm’ in a good way. That’s why we hold our yearly conference, Overwhelmed. As we head into the New Year, will you resolve to live moment by moment in God’s overwhelming love—astonished at what He can do and enveloped in Him?
Add this date to your calendar: November 4, 2017, and join us in the upcoming year at Overwhelmed Conference 2017. Journey with us as we continue to learn how to live overwhelmed with God’s great love, every second. And live in victory! Together.
Happy New Year, friends!
