Today I will practice the four L’s.
Listen— So many times I want to fix, fix, fix. It leaves no room for what He is doing in a situation. I need to listen. Listen to others while listening to Him. There is great healing for those who are truly heard.
Let go— Let go of what???? If I dare to let go, my agenda will not be fulfilled. My anxiety comes from the things I attempt to control. If I can’t control them, I worry. The thief of the day is worry, not the problems themselves. Problems are not combatted in the future, they are fought at the time they arise.
Look up. Problems dissipate readily when my eyes are fixed on Him. And should problems persist, I still have peace.
Laugh. Laughter lightens my heart, binds me to others, reduces stress, and inspires hope.
When I practice the four L’s, Love flows.
Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.” Mathew 22:37 MSG
