I’d just finished speaking at a women’s conference. Standing at the door to thank the ladies for attending, a woman with silver hair approached me. By the look in her loving eyes, she had something to say. “What you said this morning encouraged me. Now, I’d like to pray a blessing over you,” she said. “Would that be okay?”
I shook my head in agreement.
She asked me to place my hand on my forehead and she placed hers over mine.
“‘The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.’ This is the Lord’s season for you. You are anointed and called by God. Continue to share His love with the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
I opened my eyes and slipped my hand from my forehead to catch a stray tear. “Thank you, Mary Louise.”
She simply smiled, embraced me, and walked out the door.
Today, I want to pray that blessing over you.
The LORD bless you and keep you—do you know He has His hand upon you?
The LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you—His grace covers you and is more than sufficient in your life.
The LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace—no need to be anxious about anything today.
This is the Lord’s season for you—young or old, He has brought you to this very season in your life to do great things.
You are anointed and called by God—never forget Whose you are.
Now get out there. Go do what you’ve been called to do.
