Deep in thought, I flipped eggs, buttered toast and pondered how I could get out the door in time. A high-pitched noise startled me. “Laub, laub, laub!” Then some clicking of the tongue. “Laub, laub, laub!”
What in the world???
I peeked around the kitchen wall looking in the direction it came from. Nothing.
I turned to finish cooking breakfast and there was David. “Laub, luab, laub!” And more clicking noises.
“I have no time for your antics this morning. What are you doing?”
“I just read your blog about the African people—how they show their emotions and are thankful for everything. So I’m sharing my feelings of elation and I’m very appreciative that you would still make me breakfast, despite your busy schedule today. Laub, laub, laub! Click, click.”
He smiled as he leaned toward me and kissed my cheek. He took his breakfast plate, and sat down at the table.
“Have a great day, I appreciate you. Laub, laub, laub! click, click.”
I let a giggle slip out as I grabbed my purse and ran out the door. Between appointments, I caught myself smiling over his strange noises at breakfast.
Thank you Lord, for my husband. I clicked my tongue and headed for my next appointment.
What are you thankful for today? Share some emotions with me.
