The first half of the morning I cried—over worship…from the words of our speakers…at His powerful presence. Get it together, Dawna. But I couldn’t. God’s Spirit permeated the room. I was in awe of Him. Our conference was more than I could have ever imagined!
In prayer this morning, I thanked God for our Overwhelmed Conference. He whispered to my heart, “Success is measured in moments, not masses.”
Right then, an email arrived that was titled: Ministering Angels of Mercy. As if a message from the the Divine Himself was delivered for me to read at that moment. Tears flowed once again.
To me, this picture epitomizes the Overwhelmed Conference.
Moments before this picture was taken, one of these sweet ladies was in tears. Friends at her table immediately swarmed around her. One gave her Kleenex, another stroked her hair. They all encircled her, laying hands and praying over her with sweet words of comfort and encouragement. (I wanted to take the shot, but I realized this was a holy moment and picture taking would be intrusive.) Seconds later the music began and this sweet table of ladies immediately started to praise and worship their King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Moments before the picture was taken…God was stirring spirits. Speaking to the depths of one woman’s soul. Stirring others to be the hands that could lift her up.
If you are reading this and wondering about your own ministry, allow me to gently remind you as I was reminded this morning; What you do matters—one person, one moment, at a time.
And, as my friend Allen Arnold says, “Did we pursue our dreams with God? If so, that is the only definition of success that matters.”
