The answers poured in:
Loving~ We can only speak truth and grace when love is the motive.
Camaraderie~We can still be independent, but independent together!
The question was: What one word describes what you long for, right now, in your relationships with other women?
I doodled in my journal. What do I need most in my relationships with other women? Then, as if my blue pencil had a mind of its own, each letter formed my word.
I sat there staring at what I had written: Endure~
I’ve been abandoned by women. I understand the deep loss when “she” gives up on me—the pain of a sister walking right out of my life. So today I cry out, “Endure with me.”
Sometimes I say the wrong thing—love me anyway.
When I make poor choices—be compassionate, help me to get back on track.
When I get too busy—be understanding.
When I disappoint you—be honest and genuine.
When it feels like I’m distant—pursue me.
Accept me because I am different from you.
Refuse to give up on me. Stick with me.
Endure with me, and me with you.
We are better together.
