A doctor versus a physician

Like a path that’s been destroyed by floodwaters, you can’t bridge doctor and physician.

A doctor has a parochial mindset. It’s a checking of corporate boxes and the notation that only one way works for all.

A physician on the other hand, shows up with her black bag and pulls out unique solutions specific to her patient.

She doesn’t just use her stethoscope to listen to a heart beat, check a reflex and look into ears; rather she hears the heart’s blood flowing, observes the reflexive speed and sees beyond the wax.

The physician is curious and searches out answers as she formulates her plan.

When I need health guidance, I want a physician not a doctor.

Our Great Physician opens His omnipotent black bag to heal disease, broken hearts, and sick minds. And He calls us to follow Him.

God doesn’t want us to just go about our days checking boxes and having minimal impact interactions.

As His sons and daughters, we are to bring life and light to others; aligning with Him as His resident physicians.

“The Spirit of Adonai is upon me;
therefore he has anointed me
to announce Good News to the poor;
he has sent me to proclaim freedom for the imprisoned
and renewed sight for the blind,
to release those who have been crushed,
19 to proclaim a year of the favor of Adonai.”
