The fingerprints of God

Hurry is a thief.

He steals the surprised, breathy astonishment.

Robbing the

“Gosh!”

 “Oooh!.”

“Whoa!”

He rushes you past God’s undisguised gifts, missing out on child-like wonder.

Hurry silences God’s beckoning, “I created this just for you—come see.” And his hand pushes you away from the linger. But when you push back and choose to tarry, you begin to notice details you hadn’t seen before.
The way your soul exhales when you read God’s word.

“The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”

Psalm 19:1

You start to see the subtleties, hidden in plain sight.

The fingerprints of our Creator now revealed.

The Petunias… yellow with pink hearts on their faces…rightly named, Amore Queen of Hearts.

The cotton candy clouds reflecting on the water, just before sunrise.

The rough feel of dragon’s breath and how it seems to bow in adoration.

You begin to see more clearly…
Catching a message from the digital billboard before it moves to the next ad.

Noticing the whiskers on the manatee.

The firecracker flower’s yellow dot in the center…as if our Maker dotted each with the tip of His very own paintbrush.

Seeing not just the Master’s feet, but the imprint on the water.

What have you noticed as you’ve slowed the rapid-fire life?
I’d love to hear what you notice today.
