Tend

I was listening to Lectio 365 which is an app that shares a daily devotion in the morning and evening.

I’ve been journeying with Pete Greig, Pastor and founder of Lectio 365, who’s on a three-week pilgrimage through Scotland.

This week, Pastor Greig read from Genesis where God created man, put him in the Garden of Eden and had the man tend the garden.

The word tend lingered with me.

My therapist uses this word a lot. She asks questions like, “When tending to the garden of your marriage, what weeds need to be removed?” “How do you nurture what you’ve got?” “In what ways do you need to grow with each other?”

As I camped on this word, I wondered what else needs to be tended to in my life right now?

Am I walking through the garden of life with God and connected with Him throughout the day?

How am I stewarding my lot of what He’s given me?

In what ways am I caring for myself before giving myself away to others?

Am I loving well?

Over the next week, I will be considering all this.

How about you? Are you tending well?
